What goes on the list?

In order, because the order matters:

  • Floor clean, dry, and fully cured

  • Unroll in final position and let it relax
  • Rip 2-inch strips where the room disagrees
  • Set the rug, then place furniture
  • Walk all four edges and confirm no pad shows

Why unroll in position?

Because felt grips. Dragging a relaxed pad across a finished floor is the one moment in this process where you can scuff something.

Why furniture last?

So legs land on supported rug rather than on an unpadded edge. It also means you are not moving a sofa to rip a strip you missed.
