What are UnderItAll rug pads made of?

Why does a latex-free rug pad matter?
Latex breaks down. Give it a few years and it hardens, crumbles, or turns tacky against the floor, and a pad stuck to a finish leaves a mark that only refinishing removes. Going latex-free removes that whole failure mode, and the odor that comes with it.

How much recycled content is in the pad?

Is the pad recyclable at end of life?
The felt is a recycled fiber product with no bonded synthetic backing, which keeps end-of-life options open. In practice these pads outlast the rugs above them and are usually re-used rather than discarded.
Do the pads have an odor or off-gas?
No meaningful odor. The characteristic smell people associate with rug pads comes from latex and rubberized backings, which these pads do not contain, so they are appropriate for bedrooms, nurseries, and sensitive clients.
