Rug Pads for Flooring Professionals

The pad is the only product that sits against a finished floor twenty-four hours a day.

Short answer

Rug Pads for Flooring Professionals

Flooring professionals get the call when a rug pad damages a finish, so pad selection is a warranty issue. UnderItAll pads are 100% recycled felt with no latex rubber to harden or go tacky against a finish, and they are cut to the rug's size with 2-inch perforations for on-site adjustment.

What gets in the way

The problems this actually solves.

Cheap pads damage the floor you just finished

Latex- and rubber-backed pads degrade against urethane finishes and leave a haze or an imprint that only refinishing removes.

The callback lands on you

The homeowner does not blame the pad. They blame the last trade that touched the floor.

You are asked to size pads you did not supply

Installers routinely inherit an oversized pad and a pair of shears.

What changes

What an install-ready pad gives back.

Finish-safe material

Recycled felt with no latex rubber against the floor.

Breathable under the rug

Felt lets a wood floor exchange moisture instead of trapping it.

Sized before it arrives

Custom cut to the rug, perforated for the last two inches of adjustment.

Documented and domestic

Made in the USA with a material you can name to a homeowner or a manufacturer rep.

  • Pretty grippy, latex-free backing

Answers

Flooring Professionals: frequently asked questions

The answers this audience asks for most, with links to the detail behind each one.

Do rug pads protect hardwood floors?

Yes, when the material is right. A felt pad lifts the rug off the floor so grit cannot grind into the finish, cushions furniture load, and stops the rug from sliding and abrading. The risk comes from latex- and rubber-backed pads, which harden and break down over time and can leave a residue on a finish.

Why does a latex-free rug pad matter?

Latex breaks down. Give it a few years and it hardens, crumbles, or turns tacky against the floor, and a pad stuck to a finish leaves a mark that only refinishing removes. Going latex-free removes that whole failure mode, and the odor that comes with it.

What are UnderItAll rug pads made of?

100% post-recycled felted fiber — polypropylene, polyester, and nylon — densified into a uniform pad, with a Daisy Grip pattern that holds the rug and the floor. There is no latex rubber in it anywhere, which is what keeps it breathable and free of the odor rubberized pads are known for.

Can a rug pad void a floor's warranty?

It can. Many hardwood and LVP manufacturers exclude damage caused by pads with latex, rubber, or adhesive backings, which degrade over time and can discolor a finish. A latex-free felt pad avoids that category of failure entirely.

Are these pads safe on LVP, tile, and stone?

Yes. Latex-free recycled felt is safe on luxury vinyl plank, porcelain, ceramic, marble, terrazzo, and sealed concrete. On very slick stone, the 1/4 inch pad's density gives the rug more to hold onto.
