Why do rugs creep on stone?
There is almost no friction to work with. A polished slab is a low-friction plane, and any lateral force — a foot, a chair, a door swing — moves the rug a fraction. Repeat it a thousand times and the rug has walked.
What actually holds it?
Density and surface pattern across the whole pad, not tack. The Daisy Grip creates thousands of small contact points against the stone, and the pad's mass resists the lateral force rather than sticking to resist it.
Why not an adhesive-backed pad?
Because on a sealed stone floor, anything tacky is a sealer problem waiting to surface — and on natural stone, residue can stain rather than just mark.
Does the perforation matter here?
Yes, indirectly. Stone rooms are often out of square with tile layouts that make an undersized pad obvious. Ripping to fit gets the pad within an inch of the rug's edge, which is where the hold is strongest.
