What do you need before install day?
Almost nothing, which is the point. Confirm the floor is clean, dry, and fully cured, and confirm the pad on the truck matches the rug on the schedule.
- A clean, cured floor
- The rug and its matching cut-to-order pad
- Two people for anything larger than 8x10
How do you position the pad?
Unroll the pad in the rug's final position rather than unrolling it elsewhere and dragging it. Felt grips, and dragging a relaxed pad across a floor is the one moment in this process where you can scuff a finish.
Give the pad a minute to release its roll memory. In cold weather, give it five.
How do you adjust the pad on site?
If an edge sits proud of the rug, grip the pad on either side of a perforation line and pull. A 2-inch strip separates cleanly along the full length.
Work one side at a time and re-check the rug's position after each strip. Most adjustments need one strip, not three.
How do you finish the install?
Set the rug, walk all four edges, and confirm no pad is visible. Place furniture last so the legs land on supported rug rather than on an unpadded edge.
