Why does stack height matter?

Two rugs plus a quarter-inch pad is a step. At a doorway or a transition it is a trip hazard, and it is the kind of detail that reads as amateur in a finished room.

Where does the pad go?

Under the base rug only, in Luxe Lite. The base rug then does the gripping for the layer above it.

What if the top rug slides?

Usually it means the base rug is too low-pile to hold it. Anchor the top layer with furniture rather than adding another pad into the stack.
